Direct Marketing Manager

Salary: Up to £35k

In an age where the debate about food provenance, sustainability and safety has never been more urgent, our goal at Compassion is to ensure that animal welfare becomes a fundamental consideration within the global food system. To do this we need to build a substantial public movement with a clear voice for change.

We are therefore seeking an inspirational and ambitious Direct Marketing Manager to consolidate and build upon our current encouraging supporter base growth. The post is based at the Compassion in World Farming headquarters in Godalming, Surrey (45 minutes from London Waterloo). Compassion in World Farming is a 3-minute walk from Godalming mainline station.

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate a successful track history in donor or customer recruitment and have a thorough knowledge of current fundraising direct marketing techniques including online, direct mail, telephone and display advertising. Relevant experience of NGO fundraising is preferred but comparable marketing experience will also be considered. Our aspiration is to be at the cutting edge of supporter acquisition innovation.

The Direct Marketing Manager will be responsible and accountable for a six-figure budget and will need to demonstrate proven project management, financial and analytical skills in order to deliver results to an agreed return on investment. You will also have strong people management skills in order to lead the DM team and have significant input into our individual donor retention and development programme.

Reporting into the Fundraising and Marketing Directorate, the successful applicant will thrive in a dynamic environment, have the ability to work autonomously, but will enjoy working with the full input and support of the team and organisation as a whole.
