Food Supply Chain Programme

The Marketing & Communications Manager will be an experienced marketer who will help shape, define and implement a strategy to integrate animal welfare into the UK and EU food businesses sustainable food supply chain. They will be responsible for developing and delivering a marketing communication programme in support of the Food Business team and its food company engagement initiatives.
The post holder will specifically manage the creation of the team’s brand, language, look and key message framework. They will be responsible for overseeing the design and production of promotional materials for the team. They will also oversee execution of key events and programmes in the UK and EU; engaging with food retailers, food service companies and manufacturers to achieve improved farm animal welfare communication to employees and customers.
They will work in collaboration with colleagues from the Media and Marketing teams as well as external consultants to identify opportunities to improve the ‘in-store marketing’ of the organisation and communicate higher welfare messages to consumers. They will also manage the delivery of the copy and design of our Clients Award programme and other key food business websites.
Excellent marketing communication experience is required, with track record of shaping and executing projects involving high profile external partners. Ideally the successful individual will have experience of working within a commercial or agency environment, or within an NGO managing commercial partnerships, on consumer facing campaigns ideally with an ethical dimension. Direct management of events such as award ceremonies or their delivery by event management companies would be valuable. Experience in overseeing the production of website content and design would be welcome. Understanding of the charity sector and animal welfare is a distinct advantage.
The right candidate will have a track record of building strong commercial relationships and be approachable, adaptable and have a positive disposition that inspires confidence. Ideally they will have experience in or exposure to managing a sustainability/corporate responsibility programme within the retail, food or ethical supply chain sector, or a strong track record of managing NGO programmes and campaigns to commercial organisations.
