About CIWF Investigations

Obtaining footage and photographs - at times working undercover to gather evidence - hard-hitting CIWF investigations expose the cruelty often inflicted on farm animals.

CIWF investigations are recognised as one of the most effective ways of revealing the plight of farmed animals around the world.

In just the last year, members of our specialist investigation team have travelled throughout Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and Africa documenting the welfare problems inherent in long distance live animal transport and intensive factory farming.

In Asia, CIWF also examined the growing threat of avian influenza (Bird Flu) - producing a documentary shown to over 250 world government Chief Veterinary Officers (CVOs) at the annual World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) conference in Paris in May 2006.

Our investigations have resulted in extensive media coverage and exclusive footage which CIWF has used to create educational documentaries and lobbying evidence - directly influencing debate and helping to influence policy - and increasing farm animal welfare protection.
