Michael Greger, director of public health and animal agriculture for The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), Compassion's partner organisation in the USA, has placed factory farming of animals at the centre of the debate surrounding swine flu.
Dr Greger, an authority on animal diseases and factory farming, said that intensive farming played a vital role in the emergence of diseases like swine flu.
