What do we do with your personal information?
If you provide us with personal information your details are stored securely and used only for the purpose for which you have signed up. For instance, you provide your contact details if you send a lobbying e-Card and these details are held by us and forwarded to the named recipient only. We do not pass your details to any other organisations without your express consent (except if you use our secure financial pages - in which case they are passed to our financial partner, RSM, for payment processing and validation purposes only - see below for further details). The information you give helps us to know what appeals and actions are most effective and allows us to plan future campaigns to promote farm animal welfare.
Who else can access your personal information?
If you use our secure financial pages to donate online, you are going through to the website of our reputable financial partner company, RSM. RSM handles all the secure financial transactions on the Compassion in World Farming website. The information you provide as part of any online financial transaction (such as your credit card number and contact information) is collected only so that the transaction can take place.
When you provide personal information we take steps to ensure that your information is treated securely. While we strive to protect your personal information, Compassion in World Farming cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us, and you therefore do this at your own risk. Once we receive your transmission, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems. By working with RSM we are ensuring that we are using the best security technology with regards to collection and transmission of personal financial data.
Your donations, fundraising, campaigning and volunteering are vital in helping us to achieve our vision of a world where farm animals are treated with compassion and respect and where cruel factory farming practices end.
