3.7 million eggs per year
13,700 hens per year
Márton Tésztaüzem is a Hungarian quality pasta manufacturer using almost 4 million eggs a year. Through the Good Egg Awards it has committed to switch from cage eggs to barn eggs by 2012.
"We have three main reasons for the aimed change. The first is to advocate the effort for the industrial animal welfare. This is really important for us. The second reason is the expected better quality of the eggs. And last but not least to fulfill the consumers' demand."
