House of Commons

82,800 eggs used per year
300 hens benefited per year

The House of Commons refreshment department sources only 'Leaf' and 'RSPCA Freedom Food' accredited free-range eggs for all of its cafeterias, bars and restaurants. They are responsible for feeding the 659 Members and the thousands of staff and visitors to the parliamentary estate. Moving to free-range whole eggs is one of several ethical policies the House of Commons refreshment department has made.
