Take action for egg-laying hens
You can make a difference
There are several things you can do individually or as a group to help improve the lives of millions of hens.
Top action:
Encourage your local council to go cage-free
In 2012, the barren battery cage will be banned by the EU, although a so-called ‘enriched’ cage will still be allowed. Encourage your council to join over 60 other UK councils who already source their eggs from barn or free-range hens.

When shopping, always look out for cage-free eggs from hens living more natural lives in barn or free-range systems - compare the two films above to see the difference you'll be making.
