Reverend Professor Martin Henig

Martin is a published expert on Roman Art and Religion and received a D.Litt from Oxford University for his work.  He edited the Journal of the British Archaeological Association 1985-2007 and was also a vice-president of the Association. Recently he was ordained in the Anglican church. He has had a lifelong passion for animals, is a Fellow of the Oxford Centre for Animal Ethics, vice-president of the Anglican Society for the Welfare of Animals and is on the Board of the Animal Interfaith Alliance. He says, “I try to counter the speciesism to which human beings are prone”.
