Professor Peter Singer AC

Peter Singer, an Australian philosopher, is the Ira W. DeCamp Professor of Bioethics at Princeton University. He approaches applied ethics from a secular utilitarian perspective. His book, Animal Liberation (1975), helped to trigger the modern animal rights movement, and his other books include Practical Ethics and The Life You Can Save. In 2012 he was named a Companion of the Order of Australia for his services to philosophy and bioethics.
