Toby is Emeritus Professor of Farming and Food Science at the School of Veterinary Science, University of Bristol. His work has focused on the welfare of farm animals, and on food safety. He has published over 200 scientific papers and book chapters and has received several international awards for animal welfare. He’s acted as an adviser to the European Food Safety Authority, the UK’s Farm Animal Welfare Committee, World Horse Welfare and the Soil Association.
