Full time, 1 year
Salary: 38,000-41,000€ Depending on experience
Location; Brussels, in front of the European Parliament
Factory farming is the single biggest cause of animal cruelty, one of the greatest social and environmental challenges of our time and utterly fails to meet the needs of all the planet’s 7.7 billion people.
Compassion in World Farming was founded over 50 years ago by a British farmer who became horrified by the ongoing intensification of farming. Today, we campaign to end all factory farming practices. We have over one million supporters, and representation in eleven European countries, the US, China and South Africa.
Our EU Office in Brussels campaigns to strengthen EU legislation and enforcement on farm animal welfare. Our advocacy work targets the European Parliament, the European Commission, the Council of the European Union and other key players in Brussels.
We are looking for a talented and inspiring professional to advocate for stronger EU animal welfare laws over the coming year, including the ban of the use of cages in animal farming.
Compassion has embarked on a global income growth drive that has already connected tens of thousands of people to our cause over the past few years. Investment and staff are in place in key locations worldwide and we now need an exceptional professional advocate who can strengthen EU laws to help animals.
The post is based at the Compassion in World Farming EU Office which is located a few steps away from the European Parliament and the Luxembourg train station.
Join Compassion as we take the next big step and kick-start a food and farming revolution.
“Compassion in World Farming punches well above its weight. Pound for pound, I think they contribute more to the cause of animal welfare than any other group I’ve ever met.” John Webster Emeritus Professor, Bristol University Veterinary School.
