Bake with Compassion Success Stories
The past three years have seen some successful Bake with Compassion weeks, with supporters around the country hosting all sorts of free-range fundraisers. Thank you for helping spread the word about Compassion.
We hope that everyone enjoyed the events and have been really impressed with your baking creations.
The creativity combined with all the delicious recipes really made an impact around the country. Thank you for helping raise awareness for laying hens and talking to people about their consumer choices.
Whatever type of event you are hoping to hold, get some inspiration from some free-range baker stories below:

Deborah Jones held a ‘Bake and Take’ session for youngsters at her bakery, Happy Cakes, in Maidenhead. She said:
“The children who attended the event made biscuits, learned a bit about chickens, eggs, and baking, made fairy cakes, did some very creative work with pictures of eggs, and then decorated the fairy cakes to take home. It was great fun and we raised £20 for Compassion!”

Carole Alderman, who works at Crowland Garden Centre in Peterborough, held a cake sale at work. She said:
“I've never done anything like this before, so Compassion’s toolkit was invaluable to me. It gave my cakes a really professional image. Everything worked perfectly, I made the flags, listed the ingredients and hey presto, my cakes made £18 in two days!”

Cicely Landimore from Kent hosted a coffee morning and raised £45! She said:
"It was great to have some friends and neighbours round for our Bake with Compassion coffee morning - they enjoyed a good chat and some lovely cake. A variety of second hand books were available to purchase as well as Phoenix cards. All the cupcakes were snapped up quickly. It was a good opportunity to let others know about the work of Compassion in World Farming in a relaxed atmosphere."
Jane Byrne from held a cake sale at her local church, St Mary's Catholic Church in Derby. She said:

“Three of us spent a few busy days making cakes beforehand and we sold them in the Parish Centre after Sunday morning services. A last minute decision to let children pay 50p to decorate their own fairy cake was a real crowd pleaser. The children were a great help. They mingled around the tables and handed out Compassion’s Good Egg Guides. It was great to have them involved and learning about Compassion in action.
We were delighted with the response and offers of help from those that attended. Some people donated plants for sale, and others offered to bake cakes when we hold the event again. We managed to raise £112 and really enjoyed ourselves at the same time!”
