A Compassionate Tribute Fund is a very special way to celebrate the life of a loved one. It brings friends and family together by sharing memories and providing a focus for their loss. Anyone can contribute to the fund in whatever way they choose. You may wish to remember special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries or other personal dates or you can organise a fundraising or sponsored event to help grow the fund.
Every gift acts as a tribute to the special person whose name the fund has been created, while supporting the work of Compassion in World Farming. Donations in the name of a loved one enable us to help the lives of farm animals around the world.
You can set up a personal website in the name of your loved one where you – and friends and family – can visit to remember and reflect. We have partnered with the memorial website charity MuchLoved to provide you with an easy way of creating a unique tribute fund website in memory of your loved one, which can also be used to fundraise for us.
A Compassionate Tribute Fund is very simple to set up.
Using our partner MuchLoved, you can create your own tribute website with stories, photos, music and even video clips. You can then invite friends and family to visit the site where they may add their thoughts as well as make a gift in memory to Compassion in World Farming directly through the tribute website. We will send you updates on how your Fund is growing and the important work it is helping to achieve.
A Compassionate Tribute Fund website is free and only takes a few minutes to create. There is a simple 5 step process designed to make it easy for anyone to do, regardless of their level of computer experience.
Once you have created your memorial website, it is kept as a ‘trial’ site so that you can test the service for a couple of weeks and start to add photos and memories without having to commit to keeping it. In other words, you can find out for yourself whether creating a memorial website is right for you.

When you create your tribute, you can choose Compassion in World Farming as the recipient of donations. Once you do this, a ‘donate’ option will appear on your Fund’s site. This will direct visitors to our secure online donation page where they can make their donation in memory of your loved one.
To encourage donations to your Compassionate Tribute Fund, you can let all your friends and family know the website address and encourage them to pass this address on to others. There is a facility on the fund webpage to send email invitations to friends, family and colleagues so that they can visit your website and make a donation in your loved one’s name if they wish.

When you first set up your website, you will be asked whether you wish to share your details with Compassion in World Farming. By agreeing to this, we will be able to contact you to say thank you and also to keep in touch. It will also enable us to see how many supporters have created an online tribute fund and to receive feedback on the initiative and suggestions for the future.
