A Commitment to Compassion
At the very core of Compassion in World Farming is our belief that animals should not and need not suffer. And with around 40 billion farm animals raised intensively worldwide, we believe that factory farming is the biggest cause of animal cruelty on the planet.
For over 40 years, Compassion has been campaigning for the rights of farm animals around the world.
In this time we have achieved so much.
Animals have been legally recognised as sentient beings capable of feeling pain and suffering. Cruel veal crates, narrow sow stalls and barren battery cages have been banned – or will shortly be banned – across Europe. Subsidies for EU farmers transporting live cattle to the Middle East have also been eliminated.
But there is still so much more to do.
In the years to come, we need to end factory farming worldwide and stop the transport of live animals over long distances.
By remembering Compassion in your Will, you can help us achieve a world where all farm animals live lives free from cruelty.
