Every two years Compassion in World Farming carries out a detailed survey of UK supermarket performance on farm animal welfare.
This website presents the 2007 results. We hope it will help you understand what matters most to farm animals and how you can make a difference to their lives.
Those scoring highly in our supermarket survey are also celebrated in our Compassionate Supermarket Awards for leading the way on farm animal welfare. This year, Marks & Spencer is the overall winner with Sainsbury’s taking the prizes for both Best Volume Retailer and Most Improved Supermarket.

Sorry there are no more pocket guides available. You can still download the guide here. We are currently undertaking the 2009 Supermarket Survey and new Compassionate Shopping Guides will be available in October 2009.
