Professor Joy Carter
Joy is the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Winchester. Her research area is Environmental Geochemistry and Health, and she has published over 100 papers and books. She is Chair of GuildHE, a recognised representative body for higher education. In 2013, Professor Carter became a Deputy Lieutenant for the county of Hampshire. She is also an Honorary Fellow at the Oxford Centre for Animal Ethics and Patron of Winchester Action on Climate Change. Joy has been a supportive Patron since 2015 when Compassion forged a strategic partnership with the University of Winchester. Joy has also signed our Vision for Fair Food and Farming.
