Dancing cows video goes viral

News Section Icon Published 28/03/2012

Just one week after posting our video of cows dancing it has received more than 550,000 views and counting!

As part of our Cows Belong in Fields campaign, Compassion in World Farming wanted to share with the world the clear joy that dairy cows express when they are let out of their winter housing for the first time each spring.

Earlier this month, a team from Compassion visited a farm to film a herd of dairy cows being released onto the pasture for summer grazing. The cows' dance is evidence of how pleased they are to be outside. But these are the lucky ones. Many dairy cows across the world are kept indoors, in zero-grazing systems year round, never feeling the sun on their backs.

The video goes viral

Supporters shared the video and the media reported. The video has so far appeared on websites across the world, including:

Cows Belong in Fields and the cows agree!

Keep watching, keep sharing and help us to raise awareness that these beautiful animals can feel happiness and joy.
