Today, a new book hits the shelves, with some of the world’s finest thinkers across farming, food, business, human, animal and planetary health exploring the power of regenerative farming, together with sustainable diets in transforming the global food system.

Regenerative Farming and Sustainable Diets: Human, Animal and Planetary Health is believed to be the first book of its kind the couples dietary shifts with regenerative farming to provide solutions. Co-edited by our Ambassador Emeritus Joyce D’Silva and Special Advisor Carol McKenna, it dives deeper into issues explored at our groundbreaking Extinction or Regeneration conference held in May 2023.

Time for transformation

It’s clear that our food system is broken. Industrial agriculture harms animals, damages human health, drives the climate crisis and threatens the very future of our planet. But how do we feed the growing global population without making things worse?

This pioneering book explores what’s possible: farming systems can change and regenerate the planet, give animals a decent quality of life and, by shifting to diets more reliant on plant-based foods, we can meet food security needs whilst improving our health, too.

It features chapters from a wide range of internationally respected experts, including farmers, academics, food business directors, UN leaders, as well as our own thought leaders, including CEO Philip Lymbery. With notable contributors also including Vandana Shiva, Olivier de Schutter, Henry Dimbleby and Shireen Kassam, the book is a practical, evidence-based, and enlightening call to action.
